Introduction
An Inspiring Icon

Just as the Statue of Liberty stands for Freedom on the East Coast, the Statue of Responsibility will be built in a major metropolitan area on the West Coast of the USA and will serve as an inspiring and enduring symbol of the virtue inherent in its name.

The Statue of Responsibility monument will serve as an international icon of responsibility. It will engage individuals, families, schools, communities, businesses and government from around the globe with programs that encourage responsibility while improving people’s lives for generations to come.

Balance with Liberty

"Freedom is in danger of degenerating into mere arbitrariness unless it is lived in terms of responsibleness. That is why I recommend that the Statue of Liberty on the East Coast be supplemented by a Statue of Responsibility on the West Coast.”
-Dr. Viktor E. Frankl (Mans Search for Meaning)

The Statue of Responsibility Foundation™ consists of individuals who are dedicated to realizing Victor Frankl's vision. Our mission is to positively and significantly alter society’s sense of responsibility to itself and its communities by demonstrating that liberty and responsibility are INSEPARABLE ideals. Not only is responsibility a necessary condition for a free society to prosper, it will move individuals to aspire to their highest potential.

Global Reach

Although the Responsibility Campus will be based in the USA, it will have a deliberately international feel, and will include inspiring contributions from many nations. It will also provide an educational outreach program to teach the principles of responsibility. Its influence will extend worldwide and thus help solve many of the world’s biggest problems.

SOR Campus
The base of the Statue will be the “Responsibility Center”, a home for ticket sales, administration, retail activities and the entrance to the Statue.
Before rising 305 feet to the top, patrons will walk through the Halls of Responsibility giving each a “Responsibility Experience” so compelling as to set the tone for patrons to reflect upon their lives as it relates to social, civil and vocational responsibility.
Content will be modified periodically allowing multiple countries to be represented, thereby giving our Patrons a reason to return year after year.
The seven dynamic two-story buildings surrounding the Status Of Responsibioity will embody the seven (7) Continents of our world. Countries will be allowed to present their history as it relates to responsibility, commemorating individuals and events that have effected positive change.
This will attract people from all over the world who share a cohesive responsible energy.
The Artist

Gary Lee Price was born with the innate ability to communicate the human story by breathing life into his clay and ultimately bronze. His originals have been sourced and ultimately acquired by numerous public and private collectors and can be found in galleries, museums, libraries, corporations, cities, educational institutions and homes around the globe.

In 2005 Gary was chosen by the late Dr. Stephen R. Covey to create the 300+ foot Statue of Responsibility. This was a project envisioned by Dr. Viktor Frankl —renowned author of the book “Man’s Search for Meaning”, and shared by Dr. Covey. The dream was to bookend the East Coast’s “Statue of Liberty” with an equally inspiring “Statue of Responsibility” on the West Coast .
